Former Fifth Grader
After marrying a Brit who does not “do ticks or mosquitoes" (hometown Topsfield, Mass. was not a choice!), Fiona and her family settled in Marblehead, Mass. She and her husband raised two amazing daughters who now work and reside in London. Fiona spent years in healthcare and studied medical anthropology at a graduate level. She did research on poor, pregnant women while studying at Brown University. With her family, she has lived in the Appalachian coal fields and in Scotland on her husband’s family farm. Her mother insisted she study in the UK so she earned an ESU grant to attend a British girls’ school after high school. Her interests are working for the establishment of Lifebridge in Salem, Mass., volunteering at her daughters’ school, serving at her Congregational church, volunteering at the local animal shelter, serving as a Hospice volunteer, and restoring a salt marsh with her husband (a real test of a marriage!) -- which took more than thirty years. Her love of animals, particularly horses and dogs, has never waned. Her passion is still riding and being with horses whenever she can.
Does a 1967 elementary school magazine -- or a fifth grade school play -- still have value? Only if you’re looking for lost memories, new insights, and hilarity
